REMOTE DELIVERY

DESIGN & SPECIFICATION

Due to delayed planning permission this complex project had to be priced swiftly to ensure manufacture suffered no further delays. To push forward at as quick a pace as possible, we worked with the client to finalise the design, proposing alternative board specifications for the furniture, to retain the desired appearance but to allow a steady stream of furniture to be released progressively into manufacture. Another alternative we actioned was the development of a rotating bed/desk combination unit, entirely bespoke for the project to allow the spatial arrangement to work.

SITE LOGISTICS

The location of this site not only meant minimal space for off loading and distribution, but being located next to the local police headquarters meant that we could not block the entrance at any single point throughout the day. In order to achieve efficient delivery and distribution, we worked with the client, the police and the Local Authority. Our multi-lingual team and German speaking Project Co-Ordinator were critical in facilitating the continual meetings that were held and updating the permits needed on a daily basis.

PROGRAMME & DELIVERY

From the very start of this project the main contractor suffered considerable issues with delays to the preceding trades due to problems with the construction of the shell and core. In order to minimise the congestion of materials on site, it was vital that we arrange off site storage with minimal addition to the costings, and by exploring our established supply chain, we found an option, which was all key in us once again delivering on time and in budget.
