This project provided some key challenges and interest as the building had only been completed and fitted out as a short term private let accommodation during the Covid pandemic. Following this the building was bought by another developer and the rooms completely stripped out and refitted by ourselves working with the main contractor TROY.
The design was completely changed from generally loose to fully fitted and upholstered furniture. The floor plates allowed 70% of the rooms to be replicated BUT the balance of rooms were bespoke and demanded high levels of design development to achieve the look and feel within the client budget, however the key challenge was time! The standard rooms were 90% complete with the bespoke rooms design and costs undetermined.
COMPLETION CHALLENGE
In order to work around this our project lead worked hand in hand with TROYs project manager taking the clients design intent and working through a series of on site workshops to confirm the bespoke design layouts based on the as built room dimensions. This required high levels of trust and commitment from the team as we completed surveys / marked up drawings and literally emailed these to the factory to commence production.
This was a great example of connected working and achieving a fantastic result for the client and is a credit to everyone involved.
