DESIGN AND PREPARATION

The design was quickly closed out with drawings approval working with the design team. The key here being  the pre visits and planning for the logistics and consideration of design changes to allow the furniture components to be distributed in to the rooms for installation.

SITE PLANNING

Again a tight site in the Lochrin canal basin Edindurgh, deliveries needed to be centrally stored and smaller batches called off to suit the restricted site access. Due to the delays in completing the build the furniture install was delayed and rescheduled and made even more challenging as the external access was removed to enable the landscaping works to complete. This then required various reviews with the site team to review and establish alternative methods to load out the floors, which was achieved and the delivery batches amended to suit the revised methodology. The site environment was challenging and required our fitting team to work around other trades for which we established an almost daily review to agree rooms and sequence so all trades could work effectively and keep the programme on track.
