Logistics Key

DESIGN AND PROCUREMENT PERIOD

Due to the delayed completion of the build & refurb / completion – the furniture design required an amendment to suit the bespoke as built dimensions, to be verified pre to manufacture. To achieve this, we co-ordinated the design with the client team using a BIM platform to ensure the furniture dimensions and co-ordination of the works was achieved. To support this difficult start, we facilitated meetings with the client to resolve the design and budget issues to better suit their requirements. The solution was to provide an alternative worktop specification to retain the desired appearance whilst achieving the revised budget.

SITE LOGISTICS

Another central city location in historic Edinburgh, this project required a bespoke and detailed  logisitics plan to overcome access restrictions.   Due to the particular nature of this project, we worked with both the client and main contractor planning the site deliveries and distribution of the furniture.  We created a detailed schedule combining off site storage with small batch deliveries into the the site to keep the installation moving, which at the peak needed daily deliveries for a period of weeks and preloading to floors to facilitate the removal of the external hoist. This detailed planning was critical to achieve the the reduced programme that was needed to be achieved – reduced from 20 weeks to 12 weeks! We achieved this through a committed 6 -7 day working cycle complemented with a detailed delivery plan  This was without doubt one of the fastest and complex projects from a logistics management point of view we have completed.
