The Brexit Challenge

DESIGN AND PROCUREMENT PERIOD

By manufacturing and delivering this clients entire order, we were able to offer them a package that meant a dramatic reduction in not only their furniture and delivery costs, but in the time from order to delivery. By delivering to a central UK storage point, the order was placed, packaged and presented without complication.  By developing  a detailed schedule, we were able to effectively correspond directly with the clients own storage facility to ensure each pallet was referenced using their reference system for clear delivery and storage use, and with our references assigned simultaneously for clarity upon redelivery to site, ready for installation.

SITE LOGISTICS

The central city location meant constrained site location with minimal space for off loading and distribution of the furniture. Having extensive experience of logistical challenges we knew that planning for delivery into off site storage would give us numerous options and flexibility on pallet size to fit delivery vehicles and site specific dimensions.  This seamless collaboration between the clients storage facility and our own logistics team, facilitated a flawless delivery with minimal disruption at this critical stage of the project.

DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION TO CLIENT BUDGET

We have a well established relationship with the client Gilltown and a strong fondness between our company and theirs.  We understand and respect each others standards, company ethos’ and way of working.  Knowing their budget constraints on this particular project in terms of the furniture, we were able to come together to review the design proposals in order to offer alternative materials that would reflect the budget they were working with, without compromising the quality or finish.

PROGRAMME AND DELIVERY

From the very early stages of the installation, the main contractor RG Group experienced issues with the M&E installation which required reconfiguration of the kitchens on site. It was critical to the project that the solution we offered would allow the kitchens to complete on schedule whilst minimising any impact on the M&E testing and commissioning. Through detailed yet clear communication between the RG Design Manager and the Fieldhouse Furniture teams on site, in the factory and in the office, the project was completed on time, in budget and without major disturbance to any other team on the job.
